Who This Product Is NOT Suitable For
- Very fine, smooth and sparse hair that easily loses volume: the presence of hard waxes (carnauba, rice), shea butter, castor and argan oils will be too heavy for fine low-porosity hair. They may quickly weigh the hair down and make it look greasy.
- Hairstyles that require very strong, rigid hold: there are no heavy high-hold synthetic resins in the formula. The cream provides light to medium movable hold and will not support high bangs or standing mohawks.
How to Use Firsthand Effortless Air Crème
Application method depends on hair type and desired final effect. Because the formula combines hard plant waxes (carnauba and rice bran wax), oils (shea, castor, argan) and starch, the product requires proper preparation in the palms before distribution.
1. Preparation and dosing
- Mandatory warming in the palms: wax-oil textures always need to be rubbed first. Take a small amount of cream (half a pea-sized amount for short hair or a full pea for medium length) and thoroughly rub between the palms until the product becomes soft, pliable and almost transparent from the heat of the hands.
- Gradual layering: due to the butters and waxes it is better to start with a minimal amount — the product can easily be added in small portions if needed.
2. Two application methods depending on the goal
Method A. On damp hair (as pre-styling)
- For curly and wavy hair: apply the warmed cream to damp hair immediately after towel-blotting. The polymers (pullulan, Polyquaternium-10) combined with the waxes will “seal” moisture, help define the curl and protect against frizz while drying.
- For straight hair: distribute the product through damp strands and dry with a blow-dryer using a concentrator nozzle or diffuser. Under the heat of the dryer the starch and waxes activate, creating density and an invisible framework for the style.
Method B. On dry hair (as finishing styling and texturizer)
- For short and medium textured cuts: apply the cream to completely dry hair. This allows easy separation of strands, enhancement of the cut’s texture and a matte-natural finish without a glued or crunchy effect.
Thanks to the wax-oil base the cream does not dry completely, leaving the hair pliable. If the style loses shape during the day, it can easily be adjusted or changed with the hands alone without adding a new portion of cream.
